Fragonard
Presentation of Les hasards heureux de l'escarpolette by Jean-Honoré FRAGONARD
Jean-Honoré FRAGONARD lived from 1732 to 1806 .
He was one of the leading French Rococo painters. Painter of history, genre and landscape, he quickly specialized in the libertine genre.
What a joy to fly on a swing! Fragonard wants to paint the pleasure of living and loving.
All the light is directed on the most important character: the lady dressed in a pink dress revealing her skirts, a scene, somewhat daring, for the time. This painting marked by a certain lightness and frivolity is characteristic of the rococo movement.
Note also how the pink, green and blue colors blend brilliantly!
Even today, this work continues to shine thanks to many diversions, it is repeated in the cartoon of Disney, the Snow Queen!
